Le Moissonnier is a wonderfully designed restaurant - just like a typical, French restaurant of the 1920s, with lots of art deco accessories, warm candlelight and an acclaimed cuisine that offers sometimes daring and unusual, but always excellent creations. The wine menu is accordingly excellent, and dining at the Le Moissonnier is definitely a culinary pleasure. All the fresh seafood, spices and produce are imported directly and fresh from the Parisian markets - chef Le Moissonnier himself sees to the quality of his products. A "savoir vivre" hotspot! The fact that reservations are recommended for this restaurant will come as no surprise after you've been here. This charming brasserie is steeped in the aesthetic and culinary traditions of the early 20th century, with mirrors, cove moldings, dark paneling against ocher-colored walls, bentwood chairs, and tiled floors. Here you'll enjoy the carefully crafted cuisine of Chef Eric Menchon. Menu items change with the season and the inspiration of the chef but are likely to include risotto with almonds and truffle oil; crayfish sautéed in vanilla oil; carpaccio of turbot; and a house specialty that combines braised filet of goose breast with tarragon and strips of gooseliver, and is served with prosciutto-studded mashed potatoes. Salads and fresh fish are all delicious, as are the sauerkraut and a Toulouse-inspired version of cassoulet loaded with pork, small sausages, and white beans.
The authentic brasserie decor and excellent food make Le Moissonnier a magnet for gourmets. Just reading the menu will make your mouth water. Starters cost in the region of EUR14; main courses EUR22. Two wine lists offer a selection of wine to suit all tastes. This is a great place to dine with important clients or for a special romantic evening out on the town.
For traditional French dishes served up in a relaxed, brasserie-style environment, Le Moissonnier is the best bet. Seasonal produce and fresh herbs combined in the hands of Chef
